Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belong to such as these” (Mt 19:14).
We believe that it is an honor and a privilege to participate in the nurture and admonition in the Lord of the children connected to our church body. We want to take this seriously, and do everything we can to encourage and support the ministry of parents by faithfully teaching and modeling what it means to follow Jesus. We also want to protect and care for any child that comes through the doors of our building. This means that all of our volunteers have a biblical understanding of the good news of Jesus Christ, and are sufficiently trained in our childcare policy.
We want to provide child care during our main public gatherings for three primary reasons. First, we seek to minister directly to our children as faithfulness to the “Great Commission” (Mt. 28:16-20; Luke 18:15-17, Acts 2:38-40). We want to call them to repent toward God in Christ and grow up into Him as mature disciples. Second, we seek to supplement parental teaching at home. The primary responsibility is on the parents, especially the father, to instruct their children in the things of God thereby imparting life to them through His word (Ex. 20:12; Deut. 6:1-9; Psalm 78:1-8; Proverbs 1:8ff; Eph. 6:1-4; 2 Tim. 1:5). Thirdly, we seek to provide the opportunity for parents to receive the word of Christ without distraction. A concentrated time of hearing God’s word and fellowship with His people is not only a huge blessing to busy parents, but a needed source of grace for discipling their children the rest of the week.
To help us accomplish these goals, we use Children Desiring God and the Praise Factory curriculum which you can learn more about on the links provided. You can also read our Child Protection Policy.
